Some of the disadvantages for not cleaning your roof are as follows:

- A dirty roof is not very appealing; moss lingering on tiles/slates damages them over time and eats into the protective top coat. And once the protective top coat disintegrates the lifespan of slates/tiles is very short.
- Gutters full with unwanted moss and footpaths/pavements littered with moss from birds pulling it off your roof.

Process
- Everfresh uses specified plastic scrapper designed for roof cleaning on an extendable pole system to scrape the excess moss off slates and some flat tiles.
- We use soft brushes and a blower to clean the moss off the roof when scraped.
- We treat your roof in one of three ways:
- Benz lighting cleanse that will give you same day results.
- Bio cleanse which is a slow acting chemical and can take three to six months to clean your roof. Bio cleanse is a slow acting longer lasting roof cleaner which is designed to thoroughly clean your roof.
- It is a combination of both bio cleanse and lighting cleanse. And finally gutters and footpaths will be cleaned spotless before we leave your premises.
- Every 2-4 years you will need to re-spray the roof (however this is only a guideline as every individual roof is different and it depends on factors such as exposure to sunlight, rain levels and the way the house is facing etc) is to keep it clean as its more cost effective/efficient and it is less labour intensive.
We don’t walk on slate roofs.
We don’t powerwash roofs.
Have you ever looked up and seen a roof turned white this is a result from power washing a roof and top coat damaged. We don’t powerwash roofs because we know for a fact that it will damage it. This is due to the high water pressure (3,500 psi) put on the slate/tile taking off the top protective coat on the tile. This is just one of many issues associated with power washing roofs.
Another is the water getting in under the tile and you can image what this can do to your house as a whole. Whether it be getting at timber and leaking through the ceiling. It can also loosen tiles.
The damage excess moss can do to your roof is costly because it can never dry. And when it never dries it is eating into the coating of slates or tiles. It also grows leading to slates lifting these two factors can also erode cement on your roof loosing tiles.
Besides the practicality we also leave your roof in pristine condition.
I was talking to a home owner who was a foreman on a building site, he told me in hindsight he shouldn’t have power washed his roof but he didn’t know there was any other way of cleaning his roof. This was a bungalows roof across from a job we were working on had been power washed and the owner was less than pleased

The damage of moss in gutters due to the build up of moss in the down pipe can clog gutters up, this causes water to accumulate, water to get into the house could or will seep through. Water can overflow and fall down onto path. Weight of moss and water can damage gutters leading to them even falling down.
One of our ethos is ‘do not harm’ our process reflects this in how we clean your roof.
Soft washing kills moss and algae where as power washing only cuts the head off it like mowing the grass. Its does not kill it at the root.
I soft washed a roof in Kanturk 2 years ago and I seen it recently and it looked like a new roof still to this day. Where as power washed roofs are green within six months.
Both of the products used by Everfresh are certified for use in all buildings such as schools etc and near animals/pets at low concentration. Plants have to be protected if spraying chemical in close proximity.
